With our orchid care products, you are assured that you can enjoy your orchids for an extra long time!Caring for an orchid with orchid foodIn the shop, you can buy orchid food that must be mixed with water. Like many other plants, orchids also like it when they are pampered every now and then with a drop of orchid food. For the optimal flowering of your orchid, grower Rob advises using 1 special Chrysal orchid food drop every 2 months. Fill a bucket with water and add 1 drop of orchid food to it. You can submerge all your orchids in this water. Let the orchid drain well before placing it back in the decorative pot.

Caring for an orchid with a watering wick

Are you not very good at keeping up with watering an orchid? Then the watering wick is really for you! Be sure to buy the correct decorative pot when you want to use this watering wick. Never put your orchid in a standard decorative pot with a layer of water, but choose a pot where you can put a layer of water at the bottom without this layer of water touching the roots of the orchids. This can cause root rot and the orchid will die. We recommend using these watering wicks with an orchid bowl with a special water reservoir or, for example, the Scandi pot.

Repotting an orchid

Do you want to repot your orchid into a larger pot? Then use our special orchid bark, consisting of tree bark that meets the specific requirements of the orchid. In nature, the orchid grows as an epiphyte on trees. This means that the orchid clings to trees with its roots. Therefore, it is a must for the orchid to be repotted in an airy substrate. Moreover, the tree bark ensures that water can be drained well, so the orchid does not suffer from root problems.

How do you repot the orchid?

Step 1: Remove the orchid from the plastic potStep 2: Cut away the rotten roots (these are black in color)Step 3: Submerge the orchid in lukewarm water and place it in the new potStep 4: Sprinkle the new bark into the pot and gently press the bark downTip!
