On this day, the King’s birthday is celebrated in the Netherlands and the streets turn orange. Now you might be wondering, ‘Why is orange the color of the royal family?’. The color orange refers to the family name of the Dutch royal family and symbolizes our national unity.
But what does orange do in an interior? We’ll tell you more about the color orange in interiors and which fun Kolibri products you can place in your home for King’s Day.
How does the color orange affect you?
Besides being the national color of the Netherlands, this color also influences our mood. For instance, orange is a warm color that gives us energy and makes us think positively. In addition, orange encourages creativity and has a stimulating effect. For example, with an orange orchid in an orange decorative pot, you can already place a lovely orchid and pot combination on your desk, side table, or kitchen counter and enjoy the positive color.
What does orange do in an interior?
We are increasingly seeing orange walls, prints, and home accessories such as rugs, decorative pots, and ornaments in interiors. A color with a timeless and atmospheric character that is easy to combine whether you like a vintage or modern interior. Especially during King’s Day, it’s nice to give this color a stage, but of course, you can also carry this through all year round.
Orange brings harmony and is mainly used in interiors as an accent color on walls, floors, furniture, or accessories. Which colors look good with orange? You could think of blue, black, white, or beige colors. This way, you can easily brighten up a colorless office or room by adding orange.
